Welcome to Hold Strong Inc, I would like to thank you for visiting our site and for being a potential partner at Hold Strong. My name is Travis Rowden, I founded Hold Strong because I live the values that we are trying to teach. During my time as a police officer I was involved in several critical incidents that resulted in the end of my law enforcement career and a PTSD diagnosis. I have suffered from the effects of PTSD since and have struggled to find purpose, an outlet, and brotherhood since leaving the departments. I have witnessed how PTSD can lead to suicide, that when officers have no one to talk to and fear the repercussions from departments or judgement from others they feel there is no way out. In 2 years, I have lost 2 close friends and fellow officers to suicide, my mission is making sure every officer experiencing PTSD or is thinking about suicide knows that someone is here. These friends are why I am here, and this organization is dedicated to them.
I never found comfort in traditional support groups but always found comfort in the times my friends and fellow officers would just show up to my shop and sit and work and talk. I noticed that people were more willing to let down their guard and open up when they were working towards a goal. I open up more in this setting. The mission of Hold Strong is to work together and start fixing problems; mechanical and not mechanical.
The goal from this point forward is to combine my passion for helping others with similar symptoms of PTSD and my love of fabrication and off-road vehicles. Together we will build an off-road race vehicle to compete in one of the most challenging races in the world. I hope to create a support group that is different from the traditional ones. Join me in helping others so no one has to suffer in silence, help us hold strong for those who aren’t sure if they can hold themselves.
